Bicentenary of Birth of Bahá’u’lláh and The Báb

Two hundred years ago, two divine Figures appeared in the world, and were the Bearers of a new Message for humankind. The first of these two Figures was known as the blessed Báb:

"The gentle, the youthful and irresistible person of the Báb, matchless in His meekness, imperturbable in His serenity, magnetic in His utterance…” – Shoghi Effendi

The second of these two Figures was known as Baha’u’llah:

"The incomparable figure of Bahá’u’lláh, transcendental in His majesty, serene, awe-inspiring, unapproachably glorious.” – Shoghi Effendi

In His Writings, Baha’u’llah has outlined a framework for the development of a global civilization which takes into account both the spiritual and material dimensions of human life.

The Bab and Baha’u’llah have set in motion an irresistible process of individual and social change, which is gathering momentum with every passing day, and which at its climax will lead to the culmination of mankind's social evolution - the unification of the entire human race.

Unification of the whole of mankind is the hall-mark of the stage which human society is now approaching. Unity of family, of tribe, of city-state, and nation have been successively attempted and fully established. World unity is the goal towards which a harassed humanity is striving. Nation-building has come to an end. The anarchy inherent in state sovereignty is moving towards a climax. A world, growing to maturity, must abandon excessive nationalism, recognize the oneness and wholeness of human relationships, and establish once for all the machinery that can best incarnate this fundamental principle of its life. “A new life,” Bahá’u’lláh proclaims, “is, in this age, stirring within all the peoples of the earth; and yet none hath discovered its cause, or perceived its motive.”

In the documentary below are examples of how today in all corners of the world, worship and meaningful service are being woven into the fabric of the lives of Bahá’ís everywhere, and a pattern of collective life is emerging within which one can recognize the vivifying influence of the divine teachings brought by God’s two most recent Manifestations.
